Press Release from the Sudan International Human Rights Organization (SIHRO)
For Immediate Release
Date: January 14, 2025
The Sudan International Human Rights Organization (SIHRO) expresses its strong condemnation and deep denunciation of the violations and racially motivated killings committed against innocent civilians following the takeover of the city of Wad Madani by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the allied armed movements.
The organization calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities and pressure the Sudanese government to put an end to the brutal campaigns of killing, torture, and abuse against unarmed civilians in Wad Madani and the Kanabi community. The organization also demands transparent and independent investigations into the extrajudicial killings that took place in “Kombo Tayba,” east of Um Al-Qura locality in Al-Jazirah State, and to ensure that those responsible for these crimes are held accountable.
The depiction of these crimes aims to spread fear and terror among the innocent and underscores the lack of accountability for those responsible for these crimes and violations against humanity. SIHRO renews its call to the international community to take effective steps to ensure respect for human rights and to put an end to these horrific violations.
