Sudan International Human Rights Organization

The Sudan International Human Rights Organization (SIHRO) is profoundly shocked and utterly condemns the recent horrifying incidents involving members of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). Disturbing footage has emerged, showing SAF personnel engaged in the grotesque mutilation and desecration of corpses, purportedly belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) personnel. These acts, which include the cutting off of body parts and the consumption of human organs amidst chants of violence, represent a monstrous violation of human dignity and international human rights law.

Condemnation and Call for Investigation
SIHRO condemns these barbaric acts in the strongest terms possible and calls for an immediate, transparent, and thorough investigation into these atrocities. Those responsible must be held accountable under the law. Such actions breach the fundamental principles of humanity and the codes of conduct expected of any armed forces under international humanitarian laws.

Appeal to Uphold International Law
We urgently call upon all belligerent parties, including the SAF and the RSF, to respect and uphold their commitments to international law. The rules of war are unambiguous and designed to protect human rights even amidst conflict. The recent actions by the SAF are a stark violation of these laws, and such behavior threatens to escalate the conflict further, undermining any efforts toward peace and reconciliation.

Call to Sudanese Civil Society
We appeal to all sectors of Sudanese civil society to stand firmly against incitement to violence and to reject any form of encouragement or endorsement of these heinous acts. All communities in Sudan must unite and steer their nation towards ending this unjust and devastating conflict.

International Community Involvement
Furthermore, SIHRO calls on the international community to intensify its efforts to pressure all parties involved in the conflict to engage in the Jeddah Talks. International actors must leverage their influence to guide Sudan to a path of peace. The atrocities observed underscore the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to be reached swiftly and decisively.

Commitment to Human Rights and Peace
SIHRO reiterates its unwavering commitment to supporting human rights, advocating for the rule of law, and promoting peace. We stand with the people of Sudan in these troubling times and remain dedicated to assisting in any way possible to restore dignity and justice to the nation.

We urge immediate action from all stakeholders to restore peace and ensure that such grave human rights violations do not occur again.
